Technical Sales

Reporting to the General Manager, your position will support our Sales Department to meet or exceed company goals by serving customers in a professional manner.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide quotes and estimates ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Support Sales Department as required.
  • Attend appropriate industry related events.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled Sales meetings.
  • Assist the Service Counter and call in customers as required.
  • Assist in design process as required.
  • Understand and follow company Health & Safety policies and practices.


  • Civil, Architectural or Construction Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent experience in construction industry.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Experience working in a construction environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering and layout software.
  • Advanced abilities in MS Office.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints.
  • Professional level communication skills.
  • The ability to work well with all types of personalities.

  • Strong mathematical skills with high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organization skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Cost reporting is considered an asset.

Design Technologists


RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Design Manager, this position is responsible for translating sales orders into accurate shop drawings, maintaining design integrity and within an appropriate time frame to include shop production and to meet the customer’s delivery requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 5 years residential or commercial wood framing experience required. Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints. Computer skills including Microsoft Office. Familiar with the use of drafting software.
Strong mathematical skills with high degree of accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Wall Panel Builder is responsible for assembling exterior wall panels and tacking on exterior sheathing according to the building list furnished by the lead hand.

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience operating different styles of pneumatic nail guns, table saw and panel saw. Proficient at using a hammer and reading a tape measure in the foot-inch-sixteenth method. Capable of reading and understanding building and insert lists. Verbal and written language proficiency (English).


RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to an Assembly Team Leader and the Production Manager, the Assembler is responsible for assembling trusses.

QUALIFICATIONS: Able to use a hammer, read a tape measure in foot/inch/sixteenth method, understand work orders, proficiency in English (written and verbal), ability to work as a team, safely, while providing quality products in a fast-paced environment is required. Knowledge of wood and building manufacturing is an asset.



  • Schedule and prioritize daily work in consultation with the management team to meet customer and product targets.
  • Provide end of shift production information.
  • Train, monitor and ensure safety standards are being met.
  • Identify and implement ways and means to continuously improve plant productivity and quality.
  • Ensure product quality by controlling manufacturing processes and conducting inspections as required.
  • Monitor equipment on a daily basis via daily preventative maintenance.
  • Manage material usage within the plant.
  • Encourage and be open to ideas from staff and peers, ensure that daily huddles are effective and motivating.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all staff using good communication skills.
  • Follow and have staff follow company policies.


  • At least 5 years working in wood product manufacturing.
  • Previous supervisor experience.
  • Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Be a confident and professional leader who leads by example.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and committed to continuous learning.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of or experience with manufacturing technology, especially related to wood finishing.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of the planning and scheduling of production work process.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including strong interpersonal communications.
  • Forklift certification an asset.

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment or construction framing experience preferred.

  • Must be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays on occasion.

Yard Operations


RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing forklift and other services in our yard and within the Shipping Department. Ensuring equipment is clean and operating in a safe manner through daily inspections.

QUALIFICATIONS: Forklift, chainsaw, general shipping and receiving experience is an asset. Key requirements for this position are dependability, organization, multitasking, time management, professional appearance, demeanour and attitude.



  • Picking lumber packages.
  • Picking floor packages.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers rotate stock.
  • Use chainsaw.
  • Keep yard clean of debris and well organized.
  • Complete delivery ship list and all required paperwork for product.
  • Provide quality service to customers.
  • Assist others as instructed by supervisor.
  • Conduct daily check of forklift to ensure safe operation; report required maintenance or damage.
  • Receive shipments and store in their proper locations.
  • Responsible for using all equipment and operating all machinery in a safe, correct and careful manner, as instructed.
  • Maintain clean forklift inside and out.


  • Forklift experience required.  (Sellick 10,000 lbs.)
  • General shipping and receiving experience an asset.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Dependable, organized and able to multitask.
