SASKATOON

DESIGN/SAFETY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

This job requires a high performing individual for this full time position to work with the Design and Safety Departments. Nu-Fab manufactures and supplies building materials for residential and commercial contractors in Saskatoon and surrounding area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

DESIGN

• Provide production paperwork from Design Department to Production Department in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure deadlines are met.

• File and maintain job files.

• Print and compile all required paperwork.

• Liaison with Shipping, Production and Design to ensure all required paperwork is produced and timelines are met.

• Other duties as assigned.

SAFETY

• Create and/or maintain safety databases.

• Update MSDS information including required research.

• Create and maintain SOPs and SWOPs.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Experience in operating typical office equipment.

• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.

• Effective time management skills.

• Professional personal appearance and presentation.

• Completed at least some post-secondary education, 1 - 2 years.

WINNIPEG - REGINA - SASKATOON - EDMONTON

TRUSS DESIGNER

Responsibilities: Design of roof and floor systems using wood trusses, i-joists and pre-engineered wood beams for residential, commercial and agricultural construction. Prepare drawings for manufacturing and erecting wood building components. Provide technical support to customers, production and sales staff.

Qualifications: Diploma from a recognized architectural, civil or construction engineering techology program, degree in civil engineering or previous experience designing roofs and/or floor systems using engineered wood products.

REGINA

FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Responsibilities: Keep saws stocked with lumber as per orders. Conduct weekly lumber counts.

Qualifications:  Forklift operators must have a valid forklift operating certificate and have good organizational abilities and accuracy.

All employees are required to maintain a clean workstation and operate all machinery and tools in a safe, correct and careful manner.

REGINA

TRUSS PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is a key role in our facility and is responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the plant, yard and shipping department.

The requirements for this role are:

• A minimum of 5 years' management experience in manufacturing structural building components or wood processing.

• Experience in hiring, scheduling, coaching, training staff as well as DOT requirements.

• Knowledge of the maintenance and minor repair of our forklifts and fleet would be an asset.

• Knowledge of the operation and minor maintenance/repair of plant machinery and equipment.

• Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles is a definite asset.

• Professional level written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient with computers, knowledge of Mitek and MBA would be an asset.

REGINA - SASKATOON - EDMONTON - BRANDON - WINNIPEG

GENERAL LABOURERS

Responsibilities: Assemble trusses in accordance with company procedures.  Regularly inspect quality of work being performed and quality of materials and condition of equipment.

Qualifications: Assemblers must be able to use a hammer and read a tape measure in the foot-inch-sixteen method.  Proficiency in reading and written skills are required in order to read and understand work orders.

REGINA - SASKATOON - EDMONTON - BRANDON - WINNIPEG

GENERAL LABOURERS

Responsibilities: Cutting, stacking and distributing lumber to the assembly tables.

Qualifications: Able to read and understand measuring equipment in foot-inch-sixteen method. Proficient in reading and written skills are required in order to read cutting reports and drawings.

EDMONTON

TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

This position will report to the Sales Manager in our Edmonton facility and will help to drive sales to meet or exceed company goals and budgets by serving customers in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:

• Develop positive relationships and secure sales from prospective customers.

• Provide product knowledge to customer, ensure a positive customer service experience..

• Provide quotes and process sales ensuring all processes and deadlines are met.

• Attend appropriate industry related events, tradeshows, etc.

• Respond to designer and production queries.

• Attend and participate in weekly/daily sales meetings.

• Provide service for the sales counter and call-in customers.

• Assist in the design process as required.

• Be a leader in growing the customer base of All-Fab.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in engineered wood product sales for both roof and floor systems.

• Knowledge of engineering and layout software as well as cost reporting.

• Experience with MS Office and Mitek design software is an asset.

• Must have a valid class 5 driver's license.

SASKATOON

INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Nu-Fab Building Products in Saskatoon is currently seeking to fill a full time inside sales position. Nu-Fab manufactures and supplies building materials for residential and commercial contractors in Saskatoon and surrounding area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Answering incoming sales calls and responding to customer requests.

• Doing material take offs for quoting to customers.

• Writing customer orders and scheduling deliveries of orders with the Shipping Department.

• Assisting current sales staff with customer requests, material take offs/quotes and entering sales orders.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Practical experience or knowledge of residential construction industry.

• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.

• Effective time management skills.

• Customer service experience.

• Able to read and understand blueprints.

• Building estimating course would be an asset.

• Completed at least some post-secondary education, 1 - 2 years.

WINNIPEG (OLYMPIC BUILDING CENTRE)

READY TO MOVE (RTM) HOMES SALES CONSULTANT

Reporting to the RTM Manager, the RTM salesperson is responsible for the preparation, presentation and processing of quotations/orders and to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate customer tours through onsite show homes.

• Represent the company in a professional manner and ensure the customer is treated with respect and courtesy.

• Prepare proposals, process contracts and work with customers/credit department to secure credit approval and collect customer payments.

• Work with customers and other staff to ensure post-order changes are implemented correctly.

• Update and change advertising materials when required.

• Keep accurate and complete documentation.

• Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.

• Ensure sales office and display homes are maintained and presentable.

• Resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications Required:

• Knowledge of construction industry including common building practices and products used.

• Well organized, detail oriented with exceptional follow through.

• Highly developed ability to balance multiple projects, meet deadlines and strong organizational skills.

• Good working knowledge of computers.

IMMEDIATE JOB OPPORTUNITY! 

TRUCK DRIVER CLASS 1 CRANING EXPERIENCE AN ASSET - WINNIPEG

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, this position will provide delivery services to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting and filling out reports for pre- and post-shift inspection of equipment.

• Ensure load is fully secured.

• Deliver trusses and other building materials.

• Ensure deliveries are made on time and include all necessary materials.

• Responsible for using all equipment and operating all machinery in a safe, correct and careful manner as instructed.

• Maintaining delivery timelines.

• Conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

• Keep truck clean and other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Current Class 1 license.

• Clear driving abstract.

• Forklift experience.

• Crane certification (may be required).

TRUCK DRIVER CLASS 1 - REGINA

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, this position will provide safe and professional delivery services to our customers within the city of Regina and surrounding area. A valid Class 1A license with a clear driving abstract is required. Exceptional customer service, organizational and time management skills are necessary. Understanding of Highway Traffic Act, permit requirements, log books and hours of service are an asset as well as load securement requirements and pre-trip inspections.

REGINA

SHIPPING SUPERVISOR - TRUSS PLANT - REGINA

Reporting to the General Manager, the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the complete operations of the shipping department including the warehouse and yard staff. This includes inventory, equipment and maintenance as well as staffing and scheduling.

Responsibilities:

• Training, scheduling and directing all truck drivers, forklift operators, yard and warehouse staff, as well as the shipping assistant.

•Ensure orders are accurately filled and loaded to daily requirements.

• Quality check all loads, identify short shipments and correct or advise as needed.

• Monitor and distribute workloads ensuring accurate on-time shipping.

• Liaise with Operations Manager ensuring fleet maintenance is up to date at all times.

• Responsible for maintaining security of yard and safety of staff/customers.

Qualifications:

• High degree or organizational skills.

• Strong management skills.

• Ability to drive forklift, 3T, 5T, tandem, single axle trucks and air ticket is an asset.

• Min. 3 - 5 years in shipping/receiving with lumber and/or trucking distribution.

• Knowledge and understanding of the Provincial Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulation.

• Knowledge of lumber and/or building supplies.
